Technical support for the Saadiyat Grove project

Details of the project

The Saadiyat Grove project is located one of the most prime sites in Abu Dhabi:  the Cultural District of Saadiyat Island, in close proximity to three major art museums: the Louvre, the Guggenheim, and the Sheikh Zayed National Museum. This ensemble intends to set a new precedent for real estate developments in the region as well as becoming the link between the three museums.

Located directly on the beachside, the Grove consists of low-rise hotels, residential, retail, and community facilities buildings including basements and podiums. It includes 88 elegant apartments, for which the architects fused Arabic and Japanese heritage to create a space of natural beauty and cultural connection. Each building is between 6 and 10 storeys high, above 2 basement levels.

The grove also includes a vast retail complex with over 70 shops, 50,000 m² of restaurant space and a multiplex cinema. The centre is designed as an experience reflecting the cultural richness of the district, with interactive artworks and digital murals.

Details of the tasks entrusted

SOCOTEC Middle East provided support for the project throughout its various stages, evaluating its technical aspects. Our teams' expertise was utilized to verify the project's adherence to relevant standards and regulations. This included:

• Conducting a thorough review of structural design, particularly focusing on reinforced concrete and steel components,

• Performing on-site inspections to ensure the proper execution of all technical aspects throughout the entire project,

• Piling,

• Shoring.
